flexibility on neck carves

I was searching the forum and came across a post where a guy said he ordered a 62 roundback neck with .03 shaved off.

I'm just wondering how difficult it is to do similar variations on neck profiles.

for example, I think I'd like the 62 roundback profile (1 5/8") for a 1 11/16 nut width? I noticed that on the bigger nut, the profile is bigger. would a 1 11/16 nut feel weird with a .83 - .955 taper?

just curious as to this an other possibilities...

we do lots of +'s and -'s. when you make the wider neck thinner from front to back, it will start to feel flatter, less round.
