Neck has become sticky.

I'm not sure whether my body chemistry has changed but lately, and I mean over the past 6 months , I'm finding the neck on my Drop Top feels very sticky in a sweaty gig.

We're actually having a great summer in the UK this year so all my gigs are sweaty ( long may it last !!!! ) but the guitar is really uncomfortable to play.

I tried roughing up the finish slightly but after a couple of gigs, it shines back up.

My other guitars have no finish on the back of the neck and I have no problem with them.

I'm reluctant to remove the finish on this neck so can anyone please suggest an explanation and solution ?

If it's shining up too fast, you shoul sand with ccoarser paper. We use 240 grit white paper here. If you're saying finer, it will polish up faster.
