Been a huge Anderson fan for a while, really love the quality consistency and way they do things there. I used to own a classic, and a currently have two cobras (Bora Surf, and Cherry Cobra S)

My main gig is making pickups (Porter Pickups) I enjoy andersons pickups, but the guitars also make excellent platforms for demo axes for my own, because of their playability and consistency holding tuning.

Glad to be a part of the forum, thanks for having me!

Wow, that surf top looks so cool. Literally and figuratively!

The other day I played around with two Cobra's at our SA TAG dealer Shop.
One brand new Cobra and another second hand Cobra maybe 10 years old .
That' means I've tried almost all TAG models except two newest -Angel and Raven .

I am enough blessed to own fantastic DT and even more fantastic Bulldog , but those 2 Cobra's I've tried just blew my mind !

Welcome and congrats on your choice , Cobra rules !

Cheers,
Zoran

I love the compact-ness and scale of the cobra, and the mahogany really sets it off tonally. They are monsters, and loaded with p90's it's even more beastly.

Tom, do you know what kind of three tay toggle this is (On the cherry red Cobra)? It's smaller than the regular swithcrafts you see on most other guitars, but I like how solid it feels when switching, and the lower profile. It's a 99 if that helps!

Do you still use this style on newer builds?

that is an apem switch. it's a mini switch on the back but with the fatter toggle on top and it's an on-on-on. used to be able to get them from digikey but they made it a special order item, then upped the quantity way beyond our usage. we also used to be able to get them from music man as they used them on the original steve morse guitar. that too has gone by the wayside so we have not had a source for them for many years. it's another loss to the condensing of what people offer these days.

the large dress nut was fairly hard to get, but ultimately the switch proved unattainable for us.

C&K also used to offer that configuration in 2 and 4 poles but have not been able to find those anywhere either.

Not surprising with people cutting or thinning stock. I like how solid it feels when switching, even some of the newest switchcraft toggles don't seem as well built.
