V Neck Question

I'm a huge fan of Tom Anderson Guitars - have owned two and parted with them eventually because the necks didn't suit me. None of the dealers within driving range of me has an Anderson with a Large 50s V neck (1 11/16" nut width) in store for me to try out.

Can anyone here help me? - I would order a custom build if I was certain the Large 50’s V neck was as close to a Strat V neck as I can buy. The Anderson necks I've had in the past were too narrow across the fretboard radius for my fat hands - and the strings too close to each other for my taste.

Any advice gratefully received.

i've not seen a fender strat V neck in the wider 1 11/16" nut width.

your question is impossible to answer without some dimensions on your part. if you have an E to E dimension that you are happy with it should be easy to know if we are going to be able to make you happy. like i said, a 1 11/16 large V is an unusual duck from us but even more unusual from fender.

Been a long time since I owned it but I did order one many years ago and they are not kidding about the large part. I remember it being fairly enormous feeling compared to the 60's vibe I had side by side with it.

I had a large 50s V and a 60s vibe at the same time. The V didn't feel that much bigger than the vibe to me. Hard for me to be sure, because it turned out that the V hurt my hand and I had to trade it away. ymmv, of course.

I liked the 50s V and it felt "softer" than the old Fender V shaped neck I had in the 90s, but still distinctly V-shaped... For some reason it just hurt my hand after about a month or so, and when I switched to my 60s Vibe neck the pain went away... so... there ya go...

The small V is an awesome neck too. Not quite as sharp of a V at the first position or so. It's not really all that small feeling to me. Not too big, not too small. I could live on that neck if it was my only guitar. Especially comfy if you're a thumb over player like me.
