Hi Tom, I was up in Hollywood today and picked up an El Capistan v2 from the guys at M/Boogie. Very cool...

I spent about 2 hours on the new Angel at the shop...S/N 03-12-14A
Also VERY VERY cool..

Questions:
1. what the the "player" refer to? (Angel Classic?)
2. the neck carve states "even taper", but the back shape is "soft V"...nice, but i was pretty surprised - are you changing the neck carves on the Angels or on TAG's in general?
3. also with a 5-way switching, VV, positions 2 and 4 were a lot 'softer/lower' in volume...which I'm not used to with the switcheroo electronics. it this a result of the 2 p/u set up and basically splitting the 2 p/u's?

thanks!
mike.

Player is just no fancy top.

Same even taper as the other 1 11/16 necks, just made longer for the longer neck. It's funny how cchanging one thing can affect how other things feel.

2 and 4 positions are parallel connections of the coils. You lose some level like splitting, but for me playing live the bridge pickup cuts better so it appears about the same volume.

thanks Tom! :)
it's funny cuz the Boogie guys (Mark) told me "no changes to even taper", and I'm going, I "just" played an even taper TAG 30 minutes before getting here.

good to know about the shaping and p/ups.

With the neck set further out of the body, it does feel different than a regular one. But there is always a bit of hand shaping that goes on at the fingerboard lamination area.
