Gotoh 1088 to Gotoh 510T?

Hey TA-lovers!
I'm thinking about switching the 1088 tremolo for a 510T on my TA Classic from -94...
Does anyone have any experience of this? Is it possible with a direct switch?
Both are two-point systems...

string spacing on both those is wider than what we use now, but it's what you already have so that should be fine. the 510 uses bigger dia studs so you'll have to enlarge the holes which would mean you can't change back easily.

I thought that the Gotoh 510 was narrower spacing than original Fender spacing... is this true and are you saying that what you guys use is even narrower than the Gotoh?

Vintage Strats were 2 3/16" E to e spacing.
Tele, floyd, gotoh 510 and1088 are 2 1/8 spacing.
Modern strat, gibson and us since the late 90's are 2 1/16.
