View Full Version : Would a.....
....H2+ pickup fit in the bridge position of my Koa HDT Shorty??
If the H2+ will not fit, than can someone tell me how a TM2 in the bridge would sound, compared to the TM3 that's currently in the bridge position?
Here's the shorty 02-23-10A;

I have no idea, but man oh man that is a nice guitar! If you cannot find a pickup that you can live with...well, I will try to think of something :D !

I can't compare to the TM3, but my TM2 sounds somewhere between a full-on humbucker and my single coil sounded. Like it gives you the oomph, but keeps the twang...
And no, a full-sized hb won't fit in that position without routing... which you better not do.

You could also try adding the boost and/or kickback modules to change the tonal character of the pickup.
As Pietro said, you can't fit a full sized humbucker in the bridge without routing it. And routing a guitar that nice is one of those mortal sins that leaves you hanging in an endless purgatory of remorse.

Yeah, we're all coming to your house with torches and pitchforks if you rout that guitar... from all over the world...
Didn't say anything about routing....... Call off the hounds!! ;)
So, can anyone compare the T3 that's currently in the bridge, vs. a T2 in the bridge?
Are there any Anderson pu's that would sound like an H2+ that would fit in the bridge position on this guitar?
Thanks, again.

I don't know if it helps you at all... but here's a comparison of the TM2 with a single coil in an Ash/maple Classic T... no fancy stuff, just open chords, played the same way each time.

The tm2 has less output and more high end than the tm3. The tm3 is the closest thing we have to a full size hb in that footprint. When you angle the bridge humbucker you lose some middle.
