I've played it for a couple of weeks now, and it definitely lives up to its reputation for fabulous acoustic tone through the PA. As usual, the workmanship is impeccable, and the guitar both feels and plays as good as it looks.

I've played it both direct to the PA, and through a Yamaha Magicstomp with one of the acoustic patches. Both sound great, but the Yamaha adds in a little of that body resonance that generally goes missing with UST piezos. (This is also true for full size guitars.) So far I'm really happy with the results I'm getting from the Magicstomp (which for an older digital pedal, has some fantastic tones that outperform some of the much more expensive recent offerings). I probably wouldn't even have dusted off the MS it if it wasn't for Pietro's excellent demos with his AG Stomp.

When I first picked up the guitar it felt and sounded like an acoustic which made me dig and play so hard that it 'buzzed' quite a bit (which is expected with such a low action). Tom suggested turning up the foldback, and of course now I don't hit the strings so hard - and no more buzz! As a bonus, the piezo sounds more life like, and less quacky. My dreadnought is quack city by comparison.

Anyway, I'll write more about it as I fine tune my setup, but so far it gets two thumbs up. I'm very happy indeed.

First up, here are the obligatory pics including a family shot (none of these shots really capture the 3D swirl of the bodies, but I tried to get the colours about right):

In case you're wondering about the strap shot, the strap is dyed eel skin, and matches the guitar more closely than the picture would suggest. I've also added some Loxx strap locks to keep it safe, and to make it easy to take the strap on/off when necessary. These strap locks are great, highly recommended.

Thanks Tom and crew. :)

I hate "New Guitar Posts"! They make me want to custom order another TAG! ;)

I'm sure Tom loves it. I want a Raven so bad. Hopefully soon!!
