Hey west coast guys, this is totally non-guitar related. I've got some young friends that have just graduated film school at FL State and looking to move out to the west coast asap. They're looking for a 4 br house to rent anywhere from Thousand Oaks/Simi Valley to Burbank area. They'll be on a bit of a budget at first, but just checking to see if anyone has any advice/leads for houses or finding rentals in the area. I've watched these guys grow up from high school through undergrad and grad school and they are good responsible bunch. You can pm me if you need to. Thanks!
i know there are pockets of affordable/less affordable places to look but am not too current on which is which anymore. thousand oaks will be a little cooler temp wise than anything in the SF valley. simi will also be hot, and a longer drive if they are going into LA or burbank area. you will probably get more house for the money in TO as compared to the valley, but then you have to factor in driving time and cost.

Thanks Tom! That's exactly what they're trying to figure out is how far out is too far for the money factoring in commute times etc. They will be heading in to the burbank/hollywood area since they are budding film makers and trying to get into the industry. Maybe I can talk them into heading over your way for a new shop tour video when they get out there! :)
travel time has to be considered anywhere near LA as it can be brutal. we avoid it at all costs.

Now one has a job in Pasadena, but the others will be in Burbank/Studio City so they are concentrating on somewhere west of burbank between the two. If anyone hears of someone trying to rent a house or knows of a realtor that specializes in rentals hit me up and I'll pass the info along!

My guys found a place and are west coast bound next week! The house is somewhere between North Hollywood and Van Nuys. Maybe sometime I'll get out there for a visit and make the trek out to Thousand Oaks for a tour...
