Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has experience with load boxes and attenuators for amps in a recording environment. I have AxeFX II, which is great, but the tones produced lack a certain "3D" vibe that a real amp possesses and I'd rather track guitars thru my Soldano SLO or Boogie Mark IIC+ which have been my favorites for years.
I am in a home recording environment where loudness can be an issue. Thinking that an attenuator would be good to tame the output while pushing the tubes enough to get that cranked tone or possibly using it to take the speaker load, silencing it altogether, and using the Slave out of amps into my computer and using pro Cab IR's (however, I don't know if cab IR's will bring me back to that "2D-esque" AxeFX thing again or not.)
Any pointers/recommendations or any insight into the matter would be a huge help and very appreciated!
