Yes that is swamp ash, light and resonant. I'm no sure where is Tom getting the wood or how is the wood selected, but the TA swamp ash is really great.

I've had other guitars made out of the same material, but it was always heavy and less musical. They had to go. I've heard that G&L and Melancon ash guitars are similar (maybe same wood batches, who knows?).
