don't know how to insert it, but on our facebook page there is another young'n from france doing an original fusion tune that's pretty amazing.
what's the deal with young players in france?

that's the one. he looks pretty darn comfortable, like he's been doing it a long time. 16 years old.

I was thinking that too! I was probably in my late 20's before I could appreciate listening to that style, much less play it. Still have to listen to Holdsworth songs a few times before I get them.

Melodic players MUST know EVERY scale in the book, I don't. I'm a blue-collar sideman, so comping and being a color is kindda the priority. I usually explain it in my clinics as the "98%/2% Theory." In the real world, the guitar solo (if any) of a song is only about 2% of the entire song but we spend 98% of our time trying to figure out that solo.

Nevertheless, the younglings are getting better and better.

Whoa! I think this cat just MIGHT have a future in music (sarcasm intended!).

Kind of reminds of the first time I saw EJ play with the Electromagnets in Houston in about '73-'74 (I was in my mother's womb at the time).
