The few mid teen kids I know have never heard of Van Halen much less been able to play eruption almost perfectly. Seems she looked a little bored now and then to boot.

It's kinda crazy. She posted the vid 3 days ago. When I first saw it, she had about 140k views, now it's over 2 million...in 3 days!!

even crazier! i just got a call from CNN trying to track her down to have her on the show. apparently a friend of ours, Renaud LOUIS-SERVAIS in france, who has a video on our site posted the original video and they are tracking her through him. so i'm three degrees separated from the 14 year old phenom.

Yup, she's one of Renaud's students!

I think she'd look pretty cool on CNN playing something with an A on the headstock... :D

Ignoring the headstock, she has got some competition from the other gender. Here's 14 year old Quinn Sullivan. He just wrapped up a gig at the Crossroads festival at Madison Square Garden. Sure it's not eruption. But I love me some blues, and this kid is the real deal with that.

Here he is at Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago:

Here's a link to a Rolling Stone article about him. A clip from the show at the Garden is at the middle of the article, and his solo starts at 2:36:

Can you say Joe Bonamassa...

He's greatly influenced by Eric Clapton, he's a good player and singer, plays with a lot of emotion for a 14 YO. Personally I've never been a big fan of the "woman tone" but he has great potential.

I still dig the whole "Bloodline" thing. Gobs of talent, creativity and versatility, IMHO!

in one moment she get really boring :D
new generation guys ...
not to bragging my Son ,but he could play Eruption when he was 13-14 as well .
maybe not so clean and precise as the young lady (he doesn't like to practice too much) , but sure with more macho authority and Rock'n Roll touch.
this type of playing is in the blood of new generations, by default ..on the same way , we ,older generation have The Blues ! ;)

Both very talented but the soul and emotion of Quinn's playing is just amazing- love the dynamics and the ease he goes in and out of his solo!

Thanks for sharing!
