CS '51 nocaster & Bulldog Stray Heathen into a '69 JMP50 split into a couple of big 1x12 cabs, one with a Celestion gold and the other with an OEM Celestion Bad Cat ceramic.
It's the beautiful sound of resonance. I wanted to curl up in the fetal position in front of this rig. :)

The stray heathen is that hollow alder bamboo necked bulldog. This weekend I had it tuned down a half step and the drop-d tuner went to c#. It was bonkers with the amp rig.
I emailed my wife the specs on a Bulldog Pup I suggested she order for my 40th birthday in August, but I don't think she's going for it. Haha

Hollow Bulldog? Alder? Looks a smidge larger than a Bulldog.
Why the gaffers tape? Is there a hole there?
Hmmm.....
nope, same size.

Ha! No conspiracies, here. There is no f-hole, a-hole or any other alphabetic hole in the guitar. It's a weirdo. Tom said it best, it definitely does a thing, but not the thing you expect when you pick it up.

To be clear, it's an awesome weirdo, like Russell Crowe in A Beautiful Mind. :)

Do you need to wear a tin foil hat, as I often do, whilst playing it?

I don't buy the "no conspiracy" thing.
I bet there are T-holes, (Tom), and they are armed with super high power lasers to zap the A-holes, (you know what that means) who want to come up on stage and kick your pedal board or spill beer on your guitar or scream "FREE BIRD!" all night.
That is what I think....

Don't know that it'd be my own choice, but man... I would like to check that out...

This got my attention first!
How about a rundown on what is populated on your pedal board these days.

Some of the pieces are staples.
For instance the M9 is just way too versatile to try to build a board without it. I've had that unit since it was in beta, with no problems.
I also have a Strymon Timeline next to it, which may be my best pedal purchase ever. It is big and expensive, but sonically it's head and shoulders above anything else. And if you're ever gonna run stereo, it's a great tool for splitting the signal into some creative washy stuff.
The front row is all drive/boost/compression. First in the chain is a Catalinbread Naga Viper, which I talk about at length in this blog post (http://www.thetonechef.com/treble-boosters-why-you-need-a-naga-viper/).
Next is the one-two punch of the MojoHand Bluebonnet OD and the Zephyr Fuzz. These two are great alone or combined and all the MojoHand stuff is ridiculously great. I have done a couple of videos for their fuzzes- the Zephyr is here (http://www.thetonechef.com/mojohand-zephyr-fuzz-and-bluebonnet-overdrive-demo/), and the One Ton Bee is her (http://www.thetonechef.com/mojohand-fx-one-ton-bee-fuzz-demo-video/)e. I have another group of pedals coming from MojoHand soon that I'm dizzy-excited about.
Next is the FX Engineering Mirage Comp. I'm a compressor addict and this is by far my favorite comp. it stays on mostly, unless Tonelounge, Bud, or Chasyboy make fun of me. Then I turn it off for a song. Haha
Currently on the board is a Marshall Jackhammer, but that was because there was a drop-tuned rock song I needed it for last week. That spot is normally reserved for a Wampler Pinnacle.
Next is an Xotic AC Boost. These were the darling of forum players 5 years ago and now you don't hear a ton about them. For my money, it's got a clarity and resonance that I haven't been able to find in any replacement. I've tried a ton of stuff in that position and I keep coming back to it.
Last in that row (and wired to fall last in line after everything) is a clone of a Zxex SHO boost from T1M. Tom turned me on to that boost and I've never found a reason to look elsewhere. I have one on this bigger board as well as my flight board.

Sweet! Thanks for the rundown Corey! It's always fun to see what cool gear folks are using.

Yes indeedy, that sounds like a versatile rig you have put together! Do appreciate the details.
You running the JMP cleanish, with a bit of grit when pushed?
I assume the M9 is being used primarily for swish & swirl, and is closer to the end of the chain? I still have not been able to commit mine to my live board...yet. I want to love it, but I'm just not quite there yet. I'm talking about functionality, not tones/sounds. If it didn't sound so good, I would have ditched it long ago!

Very cool rig Corey. I know what you mean about how a good vintage Marshall can just "hit the spot". I have my 73 50w working pretty darn well right now! I'm still working on getting some things squared away and put together but I really want to wire up my 4x12 (loaded with Pre Rola 30w 014's) in a stereo setup to take advantage of my Timeline and whatever else may find it's way onto the board.
Love to hear a sound clip or two of your rig in action!
