View Full Version : Anderson Classic/Kemper Video (Pink Floyd)

I have always loved this tune and the solo. This solo from Gilmour is easily in my top 5 solos of all time. I used my Anderson Classic nicknamed "Gilmourish". Love this guitar!

I performed two takes:

- The first was a profile called Time Solo. It does a pretty good job of simulating the original tone.
- The second was one from The Amp Factory of the HiWatt DR103 called HiWatt Full. I added some reverb and delay to this one.

Again, the first one was more trying to get close to the original tone. The second one was the base amp with a much more clean signal that allows you to hear the guitar a bit more. Either way, it was fun to play this tune and show off my take.

Nice. Both tones were good. Preferred take 2 tone a bit more.

Take 2 is def the better version, nice job.
What pickups are in the guitar ?
Tom doesn't make cream humbuckers. :D

It has the Suhr ML in the bridge. Personally, I love Tom's pickups better and had an H2+ in before. The only reason I made a switch was for aesthetics alone. Don't get me wrong, The Suhrs sound good but I like Anderson pickups much more. I just wish the humbuckers could be made with white bobbins. Gilmour has always been one of my favorite players and this Classic is my tribute. I am just more of a humbucker guy in the bridge.

The ML is a single coil mate. Can't be that in the bridge ????

tone 1 or tone 2 doesn't matter- Kemper rules ;) :D !

Nicely done. Besides certain guitars, the Kemper is the single best musical equipment investment I've made.

Both clips sounded good...no clear winner IMO.

Why did you take the original single coil out of the bridge?
