I have always use some type of humidifier for my acoustic guitars but should I be using one for my electrics? I have noticed for the first time in the three years my Hollow T that I can feel the frets hanging over a bit.
Wood shrinking from lack of Humidity? Or do I need to oil the neck board? if so is Lemon oil ok, or should I use something different?

Its a Hollow T Classic 10-7-96p. Maple Rosewood neck.

I think oiling the fretboard will make a VERY slight difference, but I also think that a humidifier for electric guitar is totally unnecessary...

Oh, and look up "Fret Doctor". It's da bomb. Works better than all the other products I've used for a fretboard.

And.. I have a TEENY bit of sharp tang on the Suhr Classic T I just traded for, but left it alone, because I realized I don't even really feel or notice it while actually playing at all... if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Thanks Pietro

Ended up with a file and time and worked it out nicely. plays great. Had to adjust the neck quite a bit too. 1/4 turn didn't do it either. almost 1/2 to get it right. We Re did our basement in the spring. it must be a lot dryer down here all three Tele's needed some love. the Parker didn't budge. Big surprise.

How do you like the Suhr? There is one at the shop I hang out at. Beautiful.
Plays like butter, I WAS looking for a Strat but happened to play that first. Nothing stood a chance after that. I did play a amazing Sadowsky classic NYC today Price is right too($1800), just not right for me right know.
generally the case.

If the frets are sticking out, it's too dry. Filing them in that condition will make them sumerged whwn the humidity comes back but that won't hurt anything.
If you don't mind fret sprout and shrunken finish, then a humidifier would be unnecessary. But if you do care, humidification is a good idea.

Tried the fret Dr, and it is nice but then found the music nomads f-one oil and like it even more. Extra bonus is that it is less exoensive too.
We're going to start supplying a little sample pack with guitars for a while. It's cool stuff.

If and when I run out of Fret Doctor, I might try that, but I feel like my one bottle might be nearly a lifetime supply.

The Suhr is wonderful, JS makes a fantastic guitar.... but I have to say, this is the first time, I think, I ever traded for a new guitar where it still settled quite handily in the number 2 spot.

The Hollow Atom CT is THAT good... I'll likely play the Suhr when I want a tele/strat sound (which isn't normally my style, actually) or a trem... and I can't imagine that I'll play it any other time.

I swapped out the bridge for a Fishman PowerBridge (as I always do) and for some reason the Fishman is way smoother than the bridge it came with. Go figure.

Happy camper... but the Andersons are still number one... for me...

Tom, have you ever tried Roche-Thomas fingerboard oil? An old Jazz guitarist I know, who owned and operated a "Mom and Pop" music store, doing guitar set ups for about 30 yrs., turned me on to it years ago. Works great, and is cheaper yet........

I'm reminded of that every time I pick up the Crowdster...
