Hello!
I received my first ever TAG in mid November ordered via Maken Music in Chicago. Had to let go of a red flame 25th anniversary MusicMan-which was also a fine instrument-to fund it. Played many TAGs, Suhr's, and Custom Shop Fenders in Chicago before determining that the TAG's just feel right for me.
So mine is an alder surf green classic with SSH, add HB, splitter & va boost, and it met all that I had expected and then some. I hemmed and hawed about making decisions on some of the specs including the neck carve (settled on happy medium over even taper), and I am now thinking that the chocolate maple would have been an even better choice. But I cannot complain - this is the finest guitar in the current stable. I am adjusting to the jumbo stainless frets as I have not owned a guitar with them before. It came with 10's but I have this thing for D'Addario 9.5's (XL120+) on strats. This did not affect the setup at all as far as I can tell. These are just awesome quality instruments at a very reasonable price-wish I'd have gotten one years ago!
Looking forward to conversing here and touting TAG's to all who will listen!
