Flame Maple Top & Personalized Selection Top ?

Hey !

I have a question, for Tom or team TA :

Does the flame maple top representing on the photo is a Personalized Selection Top? (photo from stock sold at world's guitar in UK)

If it is not the case, is it possible to ask for this type of flame maple for a new order Drop Top in trans black without it increases the cost?

Needs it to specify this choice with order ?

And what i have to specify on the order form to ask for this type of flame maple top ?

I may be wrong, but I believe that kind of quality in a TA is NOT an upcharge. My Crowdster (in the center below) has a similar flame, and it was not an upcharge on it.

Quilt (which I personally don't like as much) IS an upcharge.

If it's possible ( i hope with no upcharge :D ) what i have to specify on the order form to ask for this type of flame maple top ?

we buy only one grade of top. personal selection is for the person who has to have a particular look. you know, his or her life will be ruined if there are too many or too few flames per inch, of the quilt has to have alien faces in it, or the koa has to be the same color as their cat. i tease, but only slightly. we get all kinds of crazy requests, and the upcharge is for the time spent digging through piles of wood and endless photos finding the best match.

if you could tell me what YOU think makes that different than most, that would be helpful. we don't mind sorting for tight flame, feather flame, and other characters, it's when it has to match a picture that you have to pay for it.

I have a last question : Can we say that The flame maple top representing on the photo (in trans black) is a tight flame maple top ?

i'd say it's tight, but it also has some wiggle to the flames which i call feather flame. sometimes the tight stuff is dead straight across the whole width.

Even though I love this top, my next TA will not be a selected one. For this guitar I really wanted a straight flame without any really wide black streaks, but I'm sure that any top pulled from the bin would have been amazing. By the way, now that I'm looking at the space between the end and the bridge, I do see an alien face :p and it looks like it's holding a camera :D

I would call it tight flame straight across unless you prefer a chevron look....

I mainly play Anderson because of the playability and the handcraft quality! The nice looks is a big bonus! I have a Drop Top from 97 wich has tight nice flame top and lovely Honnyburst colour, i love this type of flames. When i ordered my new one in 09 I asked Tom about flames, and he told me i would not be disepointed by choosing non personalized.. My new one have more vawe formed pattern and it suits the Tiger Eye Bursed very nice!! It, have a very nice paint job and a very nice finish! its very difficult to get on pictures!
