"Andrea" and I had a wonderful time last night!!;)
I just want to give a huge thank you to Tom, Roy and everyone at TAG for building such a beautiful sounding and amazing looking guitar. The finish and tone are awesome!
Kieth at Gelb commented about the look on my face when the case was opened and I layed my eyes on this beauty for the first time....priceless.
And to top it off, the guitar came tuned down a half step as requested. Ready to go, right outta the case.
I brought "Andrea" home and tweaked her a bit then off to rehearsal.
The guitar sounded killer, the tone was screamin', you guys are'nt kidding about the "flame thrower" p/ups!
The guys in the band LOVE this guitar.
They could'nt get over the finish.
THANK YOU Tom Anderson Guitars!
You guys are the best!
Terry :)
Here she is....
Miss America...
gentlemen, I give you
"Andrea".......

Uhhh.......OK Terry. What Tom said, what Mike said, and I'll add that you should always wear protection when playing TA guitars. If not, you'll probably get G.A.S. Terrible disease.....just terrible. It's ravaged every member of this board.
yes, it's an affliction I deal w/ daily, from the time I wake to the time I go to bed....just awful....and that G.A.S.......hold on.....whoa...sorry about that........phew!.........sorry, that one had been brewin' a while.........y'know if you could describe a smell w/ color, I'd say that was definitely green......

Terry, very nice! Hey did you get any of this  from the dealer or from Mr. Fought? I know every time I go down the 80's memory lane, I get:rolleyes:  and . Ah...probably just me. For the record, black hardware and the 2 hum DT is about as 80's metal as it gets these days. Now if we could just convince tom to cut a couple o' maple necks w/ those small stratheads........;)

Wow, that's nice!
It's interesting to read comments about the '80s thing. Regardless, it's great that you go with what you like. And big kudos to TAG for building what you want! :D
They're good folks, eh? ;)

Thanks fellas!
bruce,
All I did was lower the strings (a hair) and raise the pick ups (a
hair). Also, I tightened the back strings to raise the tremolo arm so I could a little more sweep out of it.
Well, I did my first show with my new Andy at an Earthshaker gig(Y&T tribute band)..... and it SOUNDED AWESOME!
Every chord and solo just jumped out of the amp....the pick ups seem to suck all of the tone out of my Mesa and send it into the speakers...........it was great. ;)
The guitar got the attention of everyone in the front....especially the guitarists in the audience. I could see alot 'em just staring at the guitar.
Terry:)
btw; the drum kit in these photos is Leonard Haze's(Y&T) original drum set that he used on there first three or four albums.

Hey Terry, thanks for the information. Sorry for the confusion. I meant that was going to research the guitar's build specifications, rather than grilling you for the details. But while we're on the subject, did you have a personalized top? that quilt is wonderful!
I too have a SimulClass Mark III, but it's a green stripe not a black (or was the red made in 1986?). Anyway, thanks for the info!

Hey Mike,
No, I just ordered from what is shown at the TA web site.

I'm not sure what mine or yours is but you can ask tim@mesaboogie.com and he can answer that for you.

ps; I recently took a tour of the Mesa Boogie factory. I posted about my visit at our forum: Mesa Boogie factory tour (http://www.hftrocks.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Band;action=display;num=1082130452)

Terry, thanks for the DT classic "top" info and the review of the Petaluma factory tour. Nice write-up!
I gotta say, again, that that top (maybe it's the BBB) is STUNNING - very bold and symmetrical.

Yes, she is a stunning beauty.
The only problem is that she turns green in the presence of other guitars..........
http://www.terrylauderdale.com/images/DSC05858.JPG
Tom, is there anything I can do to keep this from happening? ;)
There is one other little problem, all of my other guitars have committed suicide and now l will be forced to acquire another Drop Top Classic....

Wow,
I'm really enjoying my new Andy....
It's getting alot of attention and really cuts through with searing tone...
I love it!
I was interviewed on a radio station here in the San Francisco Bay Area called The Bone prior to our show in Oakland. The DJ asked about my new guitar and I described her and also plugged the Anderson web site over the air!
This radio station reaches several million listeners.
Here's a shot of me proudly displaying her at a show over the weekend.
Fun with guitars........ (http://www.terrylauderdale.com/images/DSCN0186.JPG)

Mark,
That head is a 1976 Marshall 100 watt JMP Master Lead Mk 2.??
I had it modded but it sounds like dooky. So I run it clean drive it with my Mesa Boogie and it's sounds killer that way...
I bought the amp from the lead guitar player from the Brian Auger band in 1984.....japanese guy...can't remember his name.
I talk about my Anderson to anyone who will listen and show it off whenever I can.
It's a hit with the ladies too! ;)
