I just got a gig opening up for that band One Direction at the end of next month in Connecticut. Apparently these One Direction dudes are a big thing with the young crowd as they have sold out arena shows all over the place. I don't think I can even name one of their songs haha. I'm getting old I think. Anybody listen to them?

Either way, I'm excited to do some heavy drop A chords on my 7 haha. :D

Aren't you playing a bit fast and loose there with the word 'band'? :p

At least you'll know they aren't lip-synching to a CD backing track if you're playing a live instrument on the same stage. ;)

In fact, come back and let us know how it goes. That's a pretty huge gig, especially considering the demographic and music genre.

That's pretty funny. As a father to both 15 and 13 year old girls, I'm all too familiar with One Direction. Just this years version of Backstreet Boys/Nsync (insert other boy bands names here) You can count on mobs of screaming teen and preteen girls. This is probably their most famous song:

I must say, if i had the chance to play stadiums, I'd open up for Barney or the Wiggles... well, maybe not Barney.... Is he still even on?

Please let us know how it goes!

Haha you guys are too funny :)

Yeah I'll definitely let you guys know how it goes. We are running in-ears, Roland V-drums using Steven Slate Drums, and Axe FX II/POD HD Pro so there's absolutely no stage noise. I heard that all the screaming kids at One Direction shows is so deafeningly loud that the PA is maxed out and all you can hear are vocals. Should be crazy haha.

Already looking forward to your report after the show, Cody!
Our daughter is only 4, but I need to hear what I'm in for in 10 years or so! :p

You got a point there! I will play this to my kids tonight and find out what they think. I'm fairly sure that they haven't heard of them before but then again, they don't really listen to this kind of stuff at home.
