Over the last three weeks, I've been agonizing over three guitars: 1) an Anderson Cobra S with the M series pickups in Light Tigers Eye Burst; 2) PRS Hollowbody II with an Artist Upgrade in blue matteo (something like arctic blue), and 3) a Suhr Standard with Mahogany body and neck in Natural Gloss. Last week, the Anderson was out of the picture after I emailed Tom and got his description on the M series pickups, and it was between the Suhr and PRS. Yesterday, I decided on the PRS, called the store, and the person helping me wasn't working. I then decided to get the Suhr and again, the specific saleperson helping me over the last couple of weeks was also amazingly not in the store. I would of bought either if the salespeople were there. So today, what happened? I call Eddiesguitars and buy the Anderson. Weird huh, how that works! Must be divine intervention, or it must be my wife calling me an Anderson traitor since I've been on the Suhr binge (she just told me this weekend, "Why do you even post on the Anderson forum-you're not a true TAG fan!"), or it must be that I've got enough guitars similar to the Suhr, or it must be I really don't like the PRS w/f necks, or it must be Michael Omiya expounding the virtues of TAG constantly, or it must be the idea of having a cobra with the TACo neck and pickups that people are raving are great, or it must be my daughter's obsession with tigers since she saw the Two Brothers movie, or it must be that I'm too cheap to send up the 15 dollar check for a white TAG shirt!!

Me thinks it that you're too cheap to cough up 15 bones for a new t-shirt. Really, it's waaaaaay easier just to order/procure another TAG, right?
Good move brotha. And your wife's right, "this ain't no PRS/Suhr/Ibanez forum"

That's right, man-free t-shirt is better than a 15 buck t-shirt!! :p I need a white one since my last one in that color died last year. BTW-since you talked me out of the PRS, all I can is that the TAG better be able to do jazz or I'm putting a stop on the check! :D

like we were talkin', PRS is on the East Coast, it's a big company, customer service (well, not enough experience w/ that, but.....it's a big company). I'm not knocking PRS - I owned a Custom 24, and it was really nice (too look at). I'm just not a fan of the 25" neck scales and the 'through body, set-neck'. Just me. Roy and Tom are really tight w/ those guys. Nothing against PRS.
Want jazz? go get an L5 (like Wes) or an ES335 (like Lee, Larry or Eric) or a 175 (like S Howe).
I think you've got the ultimate rock, blues and maybe jazz (ask Mike Stern) guitar. LP neck scale, mahogany punch, M p/up's. mmmm..... I think I'll call Brian H.

Just joking about the jazz-I'm about as close to playing jazz as I am to having a Styx CD in my collection. In other words-it ain't happening!! I can't wait for the guitar-what won me over is the thought of the short scale cobra guitar with m pickups (and my earlier word to my wife my next guitar would be an Andy). At first I wasn't too keen on the M series pickups given Tom's description of it, but after a while, it sounded like a rather exotic combo-spanky yet bold!! Yeah, that's it, spanky yet bold, the cobra with m pickups! How's that for a slogan? BTW-I sent out the Borislav CD and the Cameron compensation this morning.

thank you sir, damn fast turnaround! Cameron's gonna wet himself when I return that Aldrich head. I'll take pix of your JCM800X in all of it's nakedness - assuming that Cameron's working on it now.

Pluto,
I think you did the right thing. I have a Cobra on order with mini hums and I agonized over it for months. I almost went with P-90s but since everyone in my band (except me) wears headphones, I didn't want to hear them bitch about 60 cycle hum.

Tommy Shaw?? He's cool but that "Too much time on your Hands" video that Beavis and Butthead made fun of was just awful! He's a TAG user though, so he's cool in my book!! As for the guitar, it did take me a long time-it must have been two months really that I've been thinking of which guitar to get, except the Cameron Marshall interrupted the whole process. Lastly, don't take any pix yet-I haven't even talked to Mark and I doubt whether he's even touched the amp. There was a recent thread or threads about Mark's tardiness on H.C.-I just had to laugh. I just sent you up the $ because seriously, my wife kept bugging me about the check (it was messing up her home accounting system). I have Cameron's check too, but I'm not sending it up til I talk to him.

Thanks Marty. I HOPE I did the right thing. Just joking-I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
