I have a cobra with 2 hums and noticed a little resistor off the 5 way switch going to ground. My question, is this for the single coil sounds? If yes, can I parallel a small cap (say 100 pf) to bleed off some of the highs in single coil mode?
that is a loading resister so that the split hb's think they are seeing two 250k pots. yes you could add a cap if you like. be careful that you make sure it gets switched out when it's not supposed to be on or you hb's will also get affected. you'll probably want a pretty small cap since you won't have a pot to dial it back.

tried it and it works in 2nd and4th position dosen't work in third position with the split activated. It dosen't effect the humbucker position either. In the end it sounds better stk to me. Thanks Tom
