Good friend of mine has a son embarking on some fly dates, mostly to LA area from NY area. He is a bassist.

For all you experienced with flying with a bass guitar, what are your thoughts? Anvil case or a high quality gig bag, like the Access Stage 3 or Stage 5, Reunion Blues Continental, the Sadowsky Portabag, or some other?

And I know we have kind of killed the "case vs gig bag" on a plane discussion. That said, this is a bassist. I personally use an Incase gig bag. But a guitar is far shorter than a bass. Not sure of the carry on rules for a bass.

Certainly appreciate your input!

With a bass, I'd do the anvil case and insure the heck out of it...

Hey Shaun. Has he ever flown with it? Remember a bass is much harder to put in the overhead than a guitar. Can you ask him about that?

THANKS!
