I have been following the used Anderson guitars on eBay for the past 6 months or so, and I just can't believe how low some of these guitars are going for.
Why do ya'll think this is? As a powerseller my self, I must say that I've noticed that using HTML, good pics, and good detail really helps bump your price a few hundred at least.
What are used Anderson guitars going for at guitar shops - if one can even find one??
Thanks for any info and input!!

Good question. I wonder if it's happening to other guitar brands as well, but since we're clued into Andersons we notice it more here.

If I can't check out a guitar in person, I will not pay top dollar, in case I don't like it and have to flip it. I imagine that these guitars that go for low dough on Ebay would have gotten a lot more if they were on consigment in a decent guitar shop. Some people don't have that luxury, but I personally have always done better with consignment in a local shop vs. what similar items were going for on Ebay.

Have you guys seen the resale of Brian Moore's? Great guitars...I have a stellar 1998 C90P. The prices are so ridiculously low....I'm not sure what's up.
Guess a lot of folks stick with the 'tried & true' theory. Not me. That rosewood Hollow T blows away any Tele I've ever owned (or played for that matter)...I've probably had 10 or so throughout the years.
No comparison.

I'm still trying to figure that one out (this is my first Andy). I just had a pup installed in the middle (and a Fishman bridge...at the factory), and have been devouring the newly acquired tones. It's had for me to say which contributes more to the overall tone...the hollow tone chambers, the rosewood top, the stainless steel frets...it's all such a unique combo for me. I would say the rosewood would add a bit more sparkle...'depth-wise', but also add a more mid-definition as you select the pups closer to the neck.
Still in heaven with this one. I haven't played any of my others since it's return :D

It indeed has been an interesting thing to watch.
Anderson Drop Tops seem pretty locked in the $1400-$1600 if they are in A+ shape on Ebay; PRS guitars a few hundred more on average. I'd say that is pretty good.
But there are more bargins on Andersons it seems, if you are patient. Being such a smaller scale builder seems to hurt resale on many brands (Melancon, Hamer USA, Grosh to name a couple).
It is a weird time to try and sell a nice guitar right now. Even PRS guitars; which have *always* held value used, are a few hundred down. Which *truly* sucks because I am selling one dandy one right now and it has not sold. Two years ago it would have sold in a day or two for $200+ of what I am asking.
I would put Anderson's used value in the middle between PRS and Hamer USA.
Just my observations.

The prices on used Andersons and PRS guitars do seem low but only from private sellers; the dealers seem to be asking what they have always sold used ones for.
