I have been super busy at work lately and haven't had any time to record let alone played. I had some time tonight and thought I would strike while the iron is hot. I love this old tune from Satriani called Can't Slow Down (from Flying In A Blue Dream). To be honest, I haven't listened to it in years and thought I would give it a go.

I actually really like how it turned out from a tone perspective. I used my Anderson Drop Top for all the guitars and only used my Xotic BB Preamp to get the feedback during the solo. I used a very little bit of delay on one side and completely dry on the other in regards to the rhythm guitars.

Tell me what you think. It was a blast to play.

Really enjoyed it. I thought you captured the tone and feel of satch's playing. I haven't played that cd in a long time mostly because his singing was a bit lacking on that album, but his guitar playing was top notch as usual.

I'm not much of a singer either. That is exactly why I decided to play the vocal line instead.

Thanks for listening!

You should send these clips to Satriani him self , and let him know what sound he might have with the right guitar :D

That sounded killer. What amp were you using? Great tone. I am getting my old Bogner Ecstasy back soon, and my Drop Top is supposed to ship next week; I hope I get half as good a tone with those as the tone you've achieved here. Very nice work.

Yep, Anderson and a bogner ecstasy-that is such a classic tone! Can't beat that combination, IMHO!

I have a feeling it is going to sound great. I used the Ecstasy with many other guitars, and I have heard a few people play Andersons through them with great tone. I can't wait to find out for myself.

I think the clarity of tom's pickups combined with the darker bogner tone is what makes the two sound so great together. I have owned the uberschall, ecstasy 100b and 101b, and tags always sounded amazing with those amps! Then again, tags sound great with anything!

Glad to hear it from someone who has experienced the TAG and Bogners first hand. I almost went with a Boogie Mk4, which I also love, but Bogners are just where the bar is set for me.
