It's no secret that Cajun Red tops are both alluring and distinctive. But when Jessie finds that special piece of maple, Chuck can really make a curly top "pop" (as in 3D, as in "I see Snoopy running throught the clouds". Of course, as Roy says, "Every top is unique and special, so why are you focusing on just one type?!?" - good point!)

Anyway, reading the Frankie Sullivan GOTW's over the last few weeks (especially today's edition), I've got to ask the forum, which is prettier - Frankie's or Bob's (as in Bob Hudson - Brian Harris' #1 Anderson customer;) )

For comparison, here's Frankie Sullivan's

and here's Bob Hudson's

Now, I gotta say that from a pure aesthetic perspective, "it don't much better than Bob's top. DANG.". But, as a Marshall-guy, I gotta go w/ Frankie's p/up choice - M's in the neck and middle and an H3 in the bridge. That Cobra's gonna smoke somebody. And, while not in the attached pix, those matching headstocks make those 2 Cobra's look soooooo cool. YESSS!

I'm an idiot. It's "Bill Hudson" not "Bob". Apologies Bill!

Both tops are fantastic!

If I had to choose... Frankie's would be the one because of the P/U choice.

I like Frankie's top better. For some reason, the way the top on Bill's turned out is nice, but I don't really like the qualities of that specific quilt. I absolutely LOVE Frankie's.

I am hoping my Plum Hollow T is not like the bottom. I like most quilt tops on Andersons, but the one's that are really "deep" and "big" looking, like that one, I just don't like...

Now pickup wise, I like the looks of Bills, cause they all match, but Frankies is more unique. I'd have to hear them both.

... one of the coolest Cobras I've ever seen was a goldtop, gold hardware and covered PUPs. It played and sounded great. If it had a trem, it would have followed me home!

BTW - it I had to select a quilt for my own Anderson, it would be the Hudson quilt.

For myself alone and with tone and oneness, Mike.

Both are utterly fantastic. I'd take either one.

Or both.

I spend a lot of time on the neck pickup, and I see Bill's is switched where I'd want it. Therefore, I choose Bill's.

Frankie's looks more visually appealling to me. Haven't heard the M pickups, but I think Frankie's would be cooler too with the higher ouput on the bridge pickup.

depends on the tops (personalized or not). Call 805-498-1747 to discuss options (ask for Roy) and then 972/243-4265 (ask for Brian) to discuss pricing.
