Hey folks-
I need to shave some weight off of my Mesa DC5. A large part of it is the heavy Black Shadow speaker. Now since the amp is overpowered for me already, I figure i can get away with less wattage capability. (the Black Shadow is really a Celestion C90 8 ohm). I am considering the following:
Weber Chicago 12" (alnico)
Weber Neo
Eminence Tonker Lite (neo)
Celestion Gold (alnico)
Celestion Century (neo)

I LOVE my new Weber Blue Dog in my Peavey..it really woke that amp up.
I know neo is a subject for discussion too (I'm reading sterile sounding), and I understand alnico is less heavy than ceramic?
Any thoughts or experience with these speakers?

Celestion Gold will knock a little weight off, but the baltic birch ply cabinet is the biggest contributor of weight by far.

The Celestion Century is a bit lighter again, but doesn't have the rawness of tone that the Gold has.
