T style bridge

Is there a reason that a "real" tele style bridge plate is not used on Anderson's?
I know that there is bridge that is like the ones that Anderson uses that has a traditional bridge plate.

between the steel surrounding the pickup and the pickup mounting screws on that steel plate it is very prone to microphonic problems. years ago i whacked off a bridge for a friend that was having terrible squealing troubles, problem gone. so we've been doing it ever since.

Thanks for answering that question. I knew that there had to be a reason, that was more than cosmetic.
