I decided to pull the trigger on one of my all time favorite amps, a Mesa Boogie Mark IV. I owned one a few years ago and loved. The only reason I sold it was I thought I would love the V even more. I was a little disappointed with the V and had a hard time finding a Mark IV in excellent condition and moved on. I haven't had much time to play with the amp yet (heading out of town on a business trip). On the spare of the moment I thought I would do a quick clip of me playing over a backing track I made a while back of Dream Theater's Lines In The Sand solo. I did a version with my Classic playing in the neck single coil mode primarily. I love that pickup position for lead and is a little more true to the tone Petrucci got on the studio version. I decided to do a version with my Drop Top that is quite a bit more hot.

Please excuse the flubs. I did these in one take and left it as is. Either way, it is fun to have this amp back. It is fun to have two amps (Mark IV and Cali mod) that contrast each other.

Nice tones! I was on the fence about an Anderson classic and your demo of the sage green metallic piece was the one that convinced me on an all maple neck classic :)

Tone. Tone. And more tone. I love the MkIV, and those guitars bring out the best in it!

Thanks dude! Love that guitar. Although it isn't my #1 (that would be the Drop Top) I can honestly say it may be the most comfortable guitar I own. Everytime I sit down with it I feel like I picked up a well broken in guitar that I have owned for years. Just a unique bond with that one.

Thanks! The Mark IV has this violin like lead tone that is hard to find elsewhere.
