Hey there everyone, I just picked up my first Anderson today and I'm thrilled...been wanting one for a long time after playing 3 that a buddy of mine has. I did have a few questions though.

Below is the spec sheet for my guitar but it appears that

A) The single coils don't appear to be Anderson pickups but some sort of staggered pole aftermarkets EDIT: After looking at the TA pickup PDF, it appears the VA pickups are staggered after all, that's what threw me
B) Mini switch? Is this the push / pull on the tone knob? If so, it isn't changing the sound at all. Is this possibly due to the non-original pickups?
C) If these aren't the correct single coil sized pickups, does TA sell their pickups and are there diagrams available to restore it to stock wiring?

Anyway, thanks again for looking, I'm thrilled with the guitar and glad to have a reason to jump out of lurk mode here.

Shannon

Nice one. I am curious how you like the one-piece maple neck with the 30+ carve? The amber over swamp ash looks great. What guitars (Andersons) did you play before choosing this one? Congrats~Nik

I like the neck profile...honestly, I'd probably prefer a bigger neck, but it's comfy...not too big, not too small. I have big hands so I tend to gravitate toward bigger necks.

I'd played a few drop top classics, a few standards, some short cobra t's, etc...This was the only used one at my favorite local shop (they're not a dealer) and I kept picking it up over every time I was in there over the past few months...so, it had sat there for a while and I offered them $400 less than what they were asking and voila, it came home with me last night. Doesn't hurt the guys there are my buddies

sometimes the switching descriptions are off on the older stuff. that has a B5 wiring. 5 way works as normal. in position 5, the humbucker is always a humbucker. in position 4(middle and bridge) it is split.
the pushpull is an add bridge. with the 5 way in position 1(neck) when you pull up you add the bridge pickup, split. in pos 2, you get all three pickups.

Thank you sir! Thanks for the answer as well as the fantastic instrument, I love it!

Is there something you weren't liking about the overall guitar tone?

That guitar should sound like a vintage '50s strat in all but the full bridge position. Don't forget to adjust the pickup heights to taste if something needs a little 'more' or 'less'.

After staring at your picture for a bit. I'm really liking the white/black pickup on tortoise mixture. That's a beautiful guitar - Knopfler/Blackmore tones all the way!

Thanks! I'm digging it as well...I need to decide if I want to lower the pickup height at all...it sounds so perfectly balanced...but I'm a chicken picker, part of the time anyway...I've been hitting the middle pickup a bit

I think it's because I've only played Andy's with flat pole single coil sized p'ups and it threw me...wasn't expecting the 50's sound, but I like it! :)
