The time has come, unfortunately, to move some gear to raise some money. I had major back surgery last April which wound up being extremely expensive, and just learned I need (or more accurately, my surgeon needs) a "do over." Not the surgeon's fault...I should have had this repair done 10 years ago. Anyway, my income has been severely reduced for the past year and I need to act like a responsible adult and pay some bills. Darn.

I acquired my Hollow Cobra S from a fellow forum member in August, 2008 and I have to say it’s been one of my prize possessions. I don’t play, though. For a few years, I was building acoustics and electrics and identified TA guitars as my “gold standard” for judging the quality of my builds. Hence the acquisition. Bottom line is that this baby is in the same condition as when I acquired it more than 3 years ago...and I can’t justify holding onto it.

Being a tinkerer, I did swap out the original (cream) pickup rings with black ones. The originals are included and I’m happy to reinstall them if desired.

The photos I have are not great. However, I will post new ones in the next day or so.

This is a beautiful guitar that does the folks at TAG proud. Did I mention it was featured at NAAM in 2007?

Inquiries are welcome!

Folks, I have played this guitar and can vouch for its bona fides. It is KILLER! Real warm and articulate. The neck is to die for. And the color is MUCH better in person than these pics indicate, (Red is ALWAYS a tough photo). Played through both of my Maz's, my Stingray, a Boogie F30 and an Evil Twin. Made them all sound awesome. You can't go wrong with this, and I'd get it myself if I had the cash!

Lofton : Sorry to hear about your back I just got out of therapy after I had a major flare up ..its no fun ..Good luck with the sale .You probably know this but that Philly Craig's List is very active also and this guitar would generate alot of interest

Argh! I just bought a White Falcon. Have to ask though, any idea what it weighs (close is good enough)? Your guitar is pretty darn close to exactly how I would spec it, and even the right color...let me see if I can do some overdue collections.

Hello, Eric. Thank you for your interest! According to my precision digital (har har) bathroom scale, the weight is 6.8 pounds. As Danno observed, the photos don't do the color proud. The third picture is probably the closest.

Lofton, you're really killing me now LOL! I know what Anderson Sweet and Sour Sauce Red looks like, and it's one of my favorites. Pickup combo is right, fretsize and backshape are right...did you get my PM?

Thank you for all the responses, friends! My photography skills are still evolving and the new pics are no better than what's posted. I can't seem to find it at the moment but there's a photo of the guitar from the 2007 NAAM show in case someone is interested...I'll keep hunting.

Eric-did get your PM and replied. If anyone on the forum has experience shipping from the USA to Canada can you post the logistics in terms of import duties, etc.? Thanks!

BTW I do have the original shipping box and it's in remarkably good shape. My wife keeps trying to throw it out but clearly she doesn't appreciate the value of items which have been touched by the folks at TAG, probably even the Supreme Commander hisself!

Hey Danno, were you the original lucky owner?

dannopelli

No. At one time I lived about 15 minutes from Lofton. He and I hooked up one evening for a night of playing guitars and such. He brought over his Andy's and some things he was making. We ran them through my amps and one he had built.

Lofton, ship to Canada via USPS. It makes it FAR easier for the receiver in terms of duties. And the paperwork for you is easier. Call me if you need help. The ONLY issue with USPS is they charge a FORTUNE for insurance. UPS is cheaper and quicker with tracking better than anyone, but the landed cost to the receiver is higher.

Thanks Danno! Does this one have stainless steel frets? I forget which year it switched over.

In the house!!! Both Lofton and Dannopelli said the pics didn't do it justice; talk about an understatement! This weighs nothing, particularly for a maple/mahogany guitar with a solid rosewood neck. Just think, five years ago today this was sitting on a rack at NAMM. Aye carumba!!!
NGD and Tone Report to follow. Have to go change my pants.

Thanks Danno! Had a chance to restring her and tweak her today. A couple of tonehound friends came over and played her and were both blown away. One is a big Anderson fan so already understood, but the other had never played a guitar of this quality. I see a lot of his guitars hitting the used market tomorrow.
My intro to Andersons was a Hollow Droptop T, so I knew what to expect, but the combination of shorter scale, maple-on-mahogany with rosewood neck is just knocking me out. This thing has acoustic sustain that's just unreal.
NGD to follow...
