Hi Tom and the gang, a merry Christmas to all of you from the UK and a happy new year too!
Could you tell me if the T style pickup TF1 is available with a coffee dipped cover to fit into a parchment pick guard ? I can have the pick guard altered if need be.
Thanks
Steve.
tf1 is too big to fit in any cover. if it needs to be a coffee cover, an SC1 would be the choice.

You could always heat form your own with a cut up ice cream bucket and then soak the result in coffee. :)

Thanks for the reply,
I have had a VA5 fitted in the neck of the last hollow drop top T you made me which i really liked, how does that compare sound wise to the SC??
The sc1 will be just a little hotter than the tf1.
Comparing the sc1 to va1, it is a little hotter, smoother, with more even string to string responce. The top end is sweeter.

Coming back to this after a long time, I am now looking at a Nashville set up for a hollow short T order,
I have a VA5 TV3 set up in another hollow T which I like a lot.
Maybe a set up starting with a TF3 in the bridge and maybe SC1, SC1 in the neck/middle or, what's the difference between a VA5's and VA7's ??the reason being I want them in coffee dipped covers to match a coffee pickguard.
Thanks for your help.:)

The VA5 has a typical vintage stagger that you'd find on a Fender. The VA5 and VA7 are otherwise identical, except the VA7 has a slightly gentler stagger that is better matched to flatter radius fret boards.
The SCs, in addition to being hum-cancelling, have the larger 1/4" pole pieces whereas the VAs have the smaller standard sized pole pieces.
you can get coffee covers on the Sc's. it's the same cover just has the holes made bigger for the larger pole pieces. the coffee covers are darker colored than the aged whit pg's.

Thanks Tom
Just to get this right, are VA7's no hotter than 5's? And how do either compare to the SC apart from the no hum?
Cheers
5's and 7's are wound exactly the same, just the magnet stagger is different.
the sc1's are a little hotter than VA's. without the string pull they have less of the weird artifact and volume imbalance between strings that va's have. i'd say they are smoother with a softer attack.
