M pickups in a soapbar guitar?

I've been wanting to try a set of M pickups (M1/M3). I have a PRS McCarty Soapbar that I'm thinking of putting them in. Has anyone tried replacing soapbars with Ms, and if so did you have to modify the guitar to do it?

The M's are smaller than a P-90, so Tom sells a mounting ring that covers up the extra space.

we do have some rings that sit subterrainian in the pickup holes. we have done a couple retro fits at the shop, and others have done it themselves.

be careful to check th edepth of teh soapbar you are replacing

i took 2 john suhr p90s out of my limited ed suhr and put in m series

they are actually deeper than teh suhr soaps so really i need to route the neck pickup a little to get th ecorrrect pickups height

when replacing anderson p 90s they were a perfect match

Maybe I better just stick with the P90s in the PRS then. Of course then I'll have to order and Anderson with M's :)
