Tremolo Springs Vibrating

Anybody have any tips on how to mute the springs on your tremolo without screwing up the movement? When I hit a chord and stop the vibrations of the springs can be heard through the amp.

You can use a piece of foam-rubber and fit it inbetween the springs and body which is approximatley 1/4 of an inch. Another way is to open take off the spring cover and simply lay a piece down over the springs, then reinstall the cover. Either way, this will dampen the resonating springs.
