I was cleaning up the HDT today and one of the toggle switch nuts spun off. I put it back on hand tight, but started wondering how to get it properly tightened down. Wouldn't want to loose one. I came up with some ideas, but I bet that there some folks here that already have experience with this.
It's an 11mm wrench. We polish the sides of ours so they dont scratch anything. If you really want the cool tool, you can get an 11mm nutdriver and grind out 4of the6 points making it into a 2 sided socket. It's way cool but probably more work than you want to invest.

I was getting ready to say the nuts were completely round, then thought I'd take a closer look. Sure enough I see the flat areas now.
Thank you

I use needle-nose pliers and put a cotton cloth between the 2 things...can't think of the word for them..lol..:D
They are called dress nuts. And yes I could tell you used pliers when I worked on your guitar Harrison:eek:

I have something from a bike shop that is a flat piece of metal 6-inches long 2 inches wide and 1/8 thick (approx). It has holes punched through that are the various nut sizes. Provides good control and visual guidance for the job. Great bike too :)

Harrison-
REAL guitar techs use ViceGrips. And hammers. It's all about the sound, right? Can't have those switches coming loose during a set, can you?
Signed,
Doofus
PS: Q: "I fixed it myself! Can't you tell?" A: "Oh, yes, Doofus. I can tell."
