NGD - Another TAG In The Wall...

I have been anxiously waiting for the day my newest family member arrived. I have been evolving as a player over the past couple of years. I am trying to try new things and sometimes the best way is to jump in head first. I have been wanting a guitar with this kind of configuration for a while. I have always been a humbucker guy and have been really liking single coil tones as of late. I called up Tom and Roy and put this more traditional style guitar together inspired by one of my favorite guitar players. I will most likely be ordering a tortoise pickguard to switch from time to time. I love it and it plays, looks and sounds awesome. Thinking of naming it "Nigel" since there is none more black.

Awesome! Love the classic in that color combination (body paint, pickup color, all maple neck) reminds me a bit of the david gilmour strat without the short trem arm!

Edit- Whoops, just read everything and realized its supposed to be a gilmour! Haha. Just shows i gotta read everything before posting!

The Anderson black reminds me of a Steinway....really deep. You got yourself a really nice guitar. Unique.

So Gibson, how is the body shape of the new classic compared to your drop top? Same curves in terms of belly cut and armrest "drop"? I know no binding and routing diff, but are there other differences in the shape/size of the classic vs. Drop top? Thanks.

body shapes are the same. rear contour is the same. top contour is about the binding thickness shallower on the drop top so that the back round over does not run into the binding.

I agree with Tom, the only difference I "feel" is the binding. There is a weight difference between the Drop Top and the Classics but that has more to do with the body wood than the models themselves. They are all amazing guitars!

That is my Classic in Sage Green Metallic with a chocolate maple neck. Not as dark as the chocolate maple neck on my Drop Top but still looks amazing. I love it too.

One of the cooler new Andersons I've seen in a while...love it, congrats! How do you like the pickups? I'm considering replacing the SAs in my hollow classic with those.
