Who here on this forum deals w. wet, sweating, swamp hands/fingers.....and how do you deal with it? Picks get slippery. I use a pick that actually suggests the lexan get sticky as your hands warm the pick. Im callin  on that (but love the pick www.V-picks.com) Ive seen Mr Santana himself w. a talcom bag onstage, not too unlike a pitcher in baseball. A rag of course sorta works. Any ideas or tricks that work for you?

Guitarist in my band has bad sweat issues and uses baby powder on both hands a lot. He plays a '73 strat w/maple board. Towels off often as well.

Try a thumb pick. I play with one as I like to play finger style, but with a sharper attack from my thumb with a pick. You can also pick as with a normal pick with that too.
If you go this route, try to get one that has a shorter pick depth to mimic more closely a regular pick.

Might have to visit the baby powder. Ive wondered why someone has not invented a thumbpick style thumb band, that allows a players personal pick, to attatch or adapt. Or just make an adhesive, just for picks?

And I thought $1.00 a pick for the ones I use was a bit pricey!

Have you followed the price of picks lately? It's as if they are drilling for them in the Middle East, they rival the cost fuel.
Am I the only one old enough to remember 3 for a quarter?

Nope, I remember that. I remember lot of things like that, 32 cents for a loaf of bread, a pack of cigarettes and a gallon of gas. Coke from a vending machine was 10 cents. I'm geezin'.

I would buy my Fender Mediums from a pawn shop at 3 for quarter also.

Same here. Towne Music, (which I think is a Chinese restaurant now) sold Fender picks three for a quarter.

i worked pumping gas as a kid and a guy pulled in and said "give me ten", so pumped $10 worth of gas and when i asked him for the money he told me that he didn't have $10 and that he wanted was 10 gallons. yep, i'm old, gas was less than a dollar a gallon back then.

I'm 51 and remember getting 3 picks for a quarter. I guess it was mid 70's. I also remember 29 cent a gallon gas. Early 70's, I was too young to drive, but I did have my own lawn cutting thing going.

Going the "rosin" bag route. Sounds like it will do the trick.
V-Picks .....These picks are all hand made by Vinnie. The web site states, "They dont wear out, and with their contoured edges roll off the strings very smooth and fast. Your hand does relax a bit due to the size and have enough choices/products for tonal options." I bought the combo intro pack and found these to be true statements. Once I discovered the one that seemed to fit, I purchased 5. I really enjoy them and support anyone trying to advance and better music. They're worth a go.
