Guitar Pickup Tech advancement

Reading this, it seems to be applicable much more to the world of hex pickups to be used in modeling and synth triggering as opposed to "real" electric guitar pickups (that contribute to the overall voice of the instrument). Anyhoooo, might be of interest to some.

this is kinda cool. this would be something that would be cool integrated within the signal path of a traditional pickup. I always thought it was so cool that I can take my axiom keyboard with reason and edit out sour notes or make a note longer or shorter after the fact from my terrible piano playing. if you could do that while still keeping traditional pickups tones in there would be awesome. I'm gonna talk to those scientists.
