Saw this Andy I'm very interested in over at Wildwood. All the specs are spot on for what i was looking for. But I don't get this color:

Sheer Gold? the photos look like a natural finished body with some gold sparkles? Anyone ever see this color in Person? Can I please get a better hands on description? Thanks!

I've not seen that one before but I like it! It looks like metal flake over a transparent finish. Schweet!

Hey King Cobra
I think I can help
It is sheer gold
I recently received my bulldog in sheer gold--see "The bulldog has landed" thread
I saw this guitar after I had ordered mine and PM'd Tom as I was a bit worried it was too transparent looking at the wildwood photo
It looks nothing like the sheer gold atom on the guitar gallery
Tom may chime in, but he thought it was the light in the photo that made the finish look very transparent
When my guitar turned up again it was a bit lighter than the gallery photo
But I LOVE IT!!
Very different under lights where it just sparkles, but under low light the finish is very understated--very complex and ever changeing.
The wildwood is Alder I think so probably even lighter again
Hope this helps

I love your photos! Very nice Axe. :)

Anyone else have a guitar in this color? Tom?

We've only done a few. On maple you do see the figure through it nicely. Thr brighter the lights, the sparkly it gets.
I believe the wildwood one is over ash, which also has enough grain to show through. Their picture is not so good.

Their picture is not so good.

Probably a hard color to photograph, too, though, eh?
