Fellow forum members... I learned today that a gifted guitarist and entertainer, Jeff Golub, has had his sight taken recently due to a rare optical disorder. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Jeff played many years with Billy Squire and then several years with Rod Stewart, before embarking on a successful solo contemporary jazz career.

Hopeful that he finds a way out of this or continues to play and tour.

Thanks all...

- Keith

So sorry to hear. I was just playing my Jeff Golub CD's yesterday--I especially like the lead track Wanna Funk? off of "Out Of the Blue".

That's a man living a grateful life. We all have to overcome what life throws at us, and he got thrown a whopper for sure. Sounds like he has great family and friends around him to help him adjust to this new life.

I almost feel guilty, for feeling sad for what he was dealt, and then being inspired by how he is dealing with it.

Been listening to his solo albums and his earlier "Avenue Blue" stuff today. He's really a gifted player and an inspiration in his handling of this. Makes some of the things I struggle with seem pretty lame. Thanks for the level set Jeff...

Also have three of his CDs. His album Dangerous Curves is one of my favorite guitar recordings. What a great player and inspiration!
