I was in Tulsa OK this weekend visiting family. I was surfing the net before I left to go there and noticed that Guitar Center had a used Anderson Tele with M's in stock. I've been thinking about ordering one, so I went to take a look. They had no specs on the website, and the price was "ok" but not great.

Went in on Sat to find a perfect butterscotch hollow T with exactly the neck I wanted (1 11/16 even taper +.030). It's in perfect condition and they had even lowered the price by $400!

So, my instrument budget is shot for they year :-). I'll post some pics in the next day or so...

Ok, here's a cheesy Ipad photo to help buy me some breathing room :-).

The thing is perfect. There aren't even pick scuffs on the pickguard. Played it for a while today. I really like the M's. Not really sure how to describe them though... They sound a bit like P90's but more refined. The kickback makes them a touch more "fenderish" but it's pretty subtle. I have an American Standard tele with some older VanZandt's that I love. It's a cool guitar, but this is much more usable that that is. Looks like I may need to thin the herd.

Very cool. I love blackguards. Anyone ever seen a blackguard with binding? Not sure what that would look like....just a thought.

Yeah, has a nice retro look. I also like the stain finish on the fretboard. First time I've played one before. Feels great.

Oooh...I like it, I like it alot!!

I've been "jones'in" for another "T" ever since I had to let my Hollow T go. :(

Yours looks like it has everything I would spec, including color, if I were in the market. Well, I could be tempted to try a "shorty."

Enjoy!

The guy at GC was sad to see it go. He said it was fun to watch people the had never played an Anderson pick it up and realize how easy it was to play and how it sounded. :-)

It seems like everyone who sells an Andy regrets it eventually...

I like the neck a lot. I was a little surprised by it. I expected the even taper +.030 to be the same as the old Anderson Std +.030. It's a bit deeper than that but still feels and plays great. Definitely a keeper.

somewhere in the 90's our necks grew about .020" in depth. for those who like the oldest ta std, we now do even taper-.020.

So to get the same size as my old necks I need an even taper +.010 :-). This neck is like the old + .050. It still feels great!
