How tight on the pots?

My volume pot was loose and want to tighten it a bit. To protect the finish (so it doesnt cause crack) and tighten down the pot....whats the best reference for tightening the nut? Finger tight, slightly snug w. pliers, .....maybe a silly question but important non the less. There isnt a washer. Thanks

We use a nut driver and it is snug, not gorilla tight. Ig it's loose, you might want check the tenets nuts too, could be sign of too dry weather.
