I was reading the ohms of my bridge p/u's. My anderson cobra has H2+, which read 128 OHMS (weird ) and my Duncan seth lover bridge p/u, read 8 OHMS, which is what I'm used to seeing. Just wondering why my H2+ is reading so high? Is this normal? Both P/u's seem about the same output level. Thanks for any time on this.

Dc resistance is only one piece of a pickups formula. A vintage un like your Seth lover is about 8k puns. The h2+ is a little over 12k. Super hot humbuckers van be close to 29k. Of the h2+ was set at the same height, I would expect it to be louder with more low end. It could be that the extra top end on the other makes it cut through better.

Thanks Tom, I think you're right about the Seth's extra top end, making it cut more. So is the 129 ohm reading normal, for the H2+? I was just running a guitar cord out of the guitar (set in the bridge position) just to get a reading on the p/u's, and thought they would both be about the same reading in ohms. Is it just Anderson pickups are different? Sorry just curious, thanks for your time.

Is your meter auto ranging? I think you might be seeing 12.9k ohms.

yes, 12.9k is more likely. if your meter has a 20k range that will work best for pickups.
when you read the cable you could also could be reading other components in the circuit. you'll get the most accurate reading with the pickup out of the circuit.

it's weird in the guitar it reads 122 ohms (not 129ohms) this is with my DVM set to 200K ohms.with the DMV set to 20K, it doesn't read. I pulled the p/u out of the guitar and with the DVN set to 20K, it reads 10.78 ohms. Could the 122ohms be caused from the Xbridge?

set you selector switch to neck pickup. this gets the bridge pu out of the circuit. then read ground to the red wire on the humbucker. make sure your x bridge switch is set to mags only. you should get in the 12k+ range.

that did it, it reads the same as out of the guitar. I hate to bother you more but, why does it do this? Any way thanks so much to all for the time on this.

why does it read different in the guitar? there are lots of components connected to ground so the meter will try to find the shortest path to read and it may find an easier path than just the pickup.

Tom, what are the hottest output single coils with the six pole pieces you all sell? Noise and loss of highs are not an issue. I've got the fender texas specials in one of my old TA Classics, Thought you may have something hotter.

the hottest humcancelling set would be SC2's with an SC3 in the bridge. vinatge style would be VA7+.
