Screwing around with saddle replacement... will 2 3/16 work with 2 1/8

Doing some tonal experimentation...just for the hey of it, and I like it!....I have a guitar with the older gotoh 1088 or 1055(screw-in arm) bridge...from E to E the spacing is 2 1/8. Want to try some of the Graphtech String Saver Classics that Tom uses on his most recent bridge...the question?....They are only made in 2 1/16 and 2 3/16 spacing:mad: ....which one would work?...or not happenin'?

the wide ones won't fit. the narrow ones will have a little gap between them.

so...the smaller ones can be used...but not recommended?...what are the drawbacks?...

since the beginning of time fender has had saddles that did not touch. they may move around a little, but because the use cup point screws they will probably be fine.
