Hey all,

I'm here in the Dallas area. Proud owner
of a gold swamp ash classic and a tiger eye burst
hollow drop top and trying to figure out what my
next Anderson should be :-).

I'm a bit of a heretic on the amp side of things.
I played boogies for (wow) 30 yrs but have switched
over to a Fractal Audio Axe-fx modeling system as
my main rig. It's done wonders for my back
problems :-) (and it sounds good too).

Glad to be on board,

Pneil

welcome, have heard great things about the fractal. how was the learning curve? do you set up presets of use it more like an amp and pedals?

The curve is a bit steep, but just because the box has so many capabilities.

I use a large midi controller and have it set up like 12 separate
amp/pedalboard combos (with fender, vox, marshall, dr Z, etc models).
There are default settings when I first select one, but effects, boosts,
gain, etc can all be toggled on the fly. I've been using it about a year
and a half now and I would recommend it as long as you don't mind
dealing with the technology.

Oh, and you build awesome guitars :-). Thanks so much.

it's weird, my rig keeps getting simpler so that thing is a little, no a lot intimidating to me.

I guess it depends on what you mean by simpler. I
see it as the best of both worlds. I have 12 different
amp pedalboard combos available at the touch of a
footswitch...

but the stuff I carry is down to a 4 space rack,
a foot controller and a powered monitor. I have to
plug in, and hook up 3 cables and I'm good to go.

I also get to have a lot of guitarists walking up and
saying "WHAT are you playing through?" :-)

Welcome to Dallas. LOTS of Anderson players in this town.

Good to have you. I am currently lusting after an Axe-FX...
