GK-3 Pickup on a Classic

I have long dreamed of having access to my VG-99 and GR-33 "virtual guitars, and assorted whale noises" via one of my Anderson's. I found a wonderfully functional bracket that mounts to the height adj screws of the bridge humbucker. No drilling, no shims...

HOWEVER. I went to mount and discovered that the GK-3 hex-pickup is simply too tall. With no mounting bracket or any shims, and with the radius adjustment as flat as it goes, the B and E strings are in contact with the corresponding magnets Anybody out there run into this? Is my tortoise guard possibly taller than the average pickguard?

the installs i've seen have either been on pgless guitars or the pg's have been cut out. the tort isn't any thicker than the others.

thanks much Tom. There'll be no cutting on this guitar. Back to the less desired solution:( . I will guess it fit on my EJ strat because of the one ply pickguard. Glad I figured this out before I plunked down $48 on the bracket
