Happened by this on musicians friend a few months ago and was reconditioning my old Ibanez fret board this morning..thought I'd give it a whirl...unbelievable how good this stuff makes the frets and fretboard look! No more steel wool for me! Will have to try it on my Andys..
Check it out!

It's really handy, but I always tape off the fret board before using it (I don't know how necessary that is, but since I usually use it after polishing the board with 3M polishing cloth, it is already safely hidden behind tape). To me it smells/acts like a mixture of brasso, mineral oil, a polishing compound and Dr Ducks Axe Wax infused onto a cloth.

Brasso achieves the same result in removing corrosion, but again, I always tape off the fret board first.

You should have seen the way it made the frets on this old axe look..the fretboard was a bonus! Wish I'd taken before/after pics. Don't know whats in it (sure its propritary), but it cleans and beautifies like nothing I've ever used..good amount of cloth in the package too. The guy who invented it is supposedly a world famous guitar tech..

I don't care for the smell, or the fact that all the black oxidation is being rubbed into the fingerboard. Good call on masking off the fingerboard though pipedwho.

may be true Bruce and I admit, it took a while to wipe off the oxidation and I did mess up a cloth or two, but when it stopped coming off..felt and looked great! I'm going to try it on my 96 Classic this week and I'll report back..

WARNING: it is similar to Brasso in that it strips the plating off gold plated hardware like there's no tomorrow.

A decade ago I made the mistake of using Brasso to try and 'wipe' the tarnish off a gold plated pickup cover. It took the plating with it and there was a silver streak wherever I'd wiped the rag. I'm glad it wasn't one of those 50+ year old half million dollar vintage instruments!
