Hey Hossman!

Welcome over here....a little tamer than the JCF, but I think it goes with the crowd:D Glad you found that Anderson / EVH / Vai link I left over there - you contributed some good stuff to it and probably got some answers you didn't expect straight from the "horses mouth" so to speak...I'm loving the EVH Pre - Pro's in your pic....they need a 'drool' smilie over here too.

Hey Velcro-fly,

Here's a shot of me and Joey Alves (http://www.joeyalves.com) of Y&T. The guy in the middle is the singer of Joey's band after Y&T called "Black Tiger".

http://www.joeyalves.com/shared/images/esjam254.jpg

Joey lives close by me and we are good friends.

Some of the guys at the Meniketti Forum (http://www.meniketti.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi) put together a Y&T tribute band-
EARTHSHAKER (http://www.guitars101.com/webs/basic/earthshaker/index.html), in honor of one the greatest rock bands ever!

Dave Meniketti and Y&T were a HUGE influence on me when I first picked up the geeetar.
I would go see them at The Old Waldorf in San Francisco in the late 70's. I even got a chance to open for them in 1982 with my band Sabotage. Y&T's photographer was in the audience that evening and got this shot of me...........which he shared with me recently.......look at the first two shots in this slide show (http://www.rockimage.com/gallery/tlauderdale/show1.html)

Hey Hossman,

Sorry to hijack the thread, but there is some relevance (to me, anyway :D ).

I've been reading this forum for a little while now. Dave K, from Seattle, pointed me to it. (I live in the Seattle area and know Dave K.) So, I consider myself a new member.

What's really striking a chord with me is that I grew up in Fairfield, CA and also lived in Vacaville. I spent a good 28 years in those parts, so to see guys from the area, and references to Terry's brother being in FF, really got my attention.

Nice axes, Hossman. I've been all around Cherry Glen Rd., out and around Lake Solano, Berryessa, etc. Great motorcycling roads when the traffic's light.

Terry, if I was still in those parts I'd really dig hearing your band(s). Your clips on your page are killer, especially the Ice 9 cover. Nicely done!

You guys keep the NorCal rock alive. It's the only way. :D

-Dave M. (a couple TA gtrs; really hoping TAG would make a BASS!! :D )

Right. :) I'm talking about heading out via Cherry Glen Rd., out through Pleasants Valley, towards Lake Solano, Monticello Dam, Berryessa, etc.
Probably right past your place on the way to the lake and beyond. :D
Great to hear that people are still living on the land out there and the development hasn't encroached too much. Do they still have the Onion Festival at Pena Adobe?

Hossman, NICE. Man it must be great to have a spare neck to give over to GMW. Tell me if it went something like, "Hi Dan, I've got his '81 Charvel Strathead I need to match to a body. Hmmmm....I'm thinkin' EVH, Van Halen 2, y'know that one on the back cover of the record? black and yellow stripes? yeah, that one.....OK, make it maple, vintage trem, single Hum, I'm thinking a seymour, yeah.....that axe is gonna rock...." and ROCK it does!

"Thanks for sharing those pic's!

Brought back some good memories.

I don't recall what happened to that Flying V Terry. I probably sold it back in my drug demon days?

Have you gotten your new Axe yet Terry?"
