de oxit d5 is the best. i've seen it save pots that other cleaners could not fix.

Note: there are two main categories of DexIT. The standard DeoxIT for switches, contacts, jacks, etc. and the lubricant (they keep changing the damn name) which may be called CaiLube, FaderLube, or just plain Fader. This is for moving parts like a pot.

I've got that...the D5...thought that stuff deteriorated some stuff inside the pot....you know what though...I've been talking about this for a while...I need to act...my older HDTC is crying for a new neck, repaired switching system, pots, an Anderson set-up...basically a full-on once over....Tom...what would be the approx. wait time for this?...

Sounds like that doesn't excite you Tom...lol....has a shotty re-fret job, stripped neck holes,(no one around here does that type of work, the toothpick dowel trick works, but the the neck screws dont go in straight, they go in angled, which I hear is bad for the wood, cracking etc..), its got dings, and the .030 OS on my other HDTC is bigger than the older one, I think wood shrinkage...plus my electronics are all jacked up...no tech here understands the switcheroo system at all..., there are some missing wires, no one knows which ones, lots of re-solder/usage burns on the circuit board...the pots' signal go in and out.....Its frustrating as hell, but its my fav guitar...

not a problem, just wanted to be sure it needed that. yes we can do a new neck. our necks grew about .020" sometime in the 90's, so a newer one could feel larger than an old one. the new neck would adjust at the headstock end. wiring is no problem, just need to see what you need to get a price. neck replacements end up taking about 2-3 months, the other stuff can happen while it's here for the neck. we only need the guitar here for the last month of the process.

Killer!...what do I do?...I assume you would want a deposit and a brief note describing everything I want done

we need the neck specs and a check for $500. when the neck is carved and has sat for a month we will need the guitar to fit the neck before finish. a list of the other work can come with the guitar.
