it has been speculated that this was coming, and maybe some of the reason for the current trademak stuff and lawsuits.

Interesting turn of events with the charman of Fender now doing damage control and insisting that Fender is in fact NOT for sale.

Things that make you go hmmmm.

No recent news or activity on this subject. Maybe if a few of us each put up a couple of $$$s we could own Fender!

Trademark applications and valuation exercises are both strategic steps a company might take right before going public. After the IPO, we could all "own" a piece of Fender.

but would we want to ?

I suggest we do a customer buy out of TAG instead -

make tom a millionaire and receive guitars instead of shares

doh! that what we are already doing!

:D

i'm still waiting for the checks that will make me a millionaire. could you put a tracer on those or send me a tracking number?

all he needs to do is embrace the nu-metal crowd, and then start making a korean model ;)

counting the stacks of cash... worked for prs :)

i'm with ya though.. finding something you like/love to do and make a decent living in the process is ideal. I'm working on that very thing, now i just need to hit the lotto or get a loan.

i'm going to contradict myself now. having great equipment to start would be a dream. starting with a big debt would be no fun at all. i'd start with less gear rather than a big debt hanging over your head. i think it would be better to have to spend more time making stuff than worrying about where the money is going to come from. in the early days you will be honing your skills and deciding what it really is you want to make, so it's ok to be on the slower side. now winning the lotto...that would make it easier.

yeah, thats what i think i'll do. signed up for some classes at the woodcraft shop, and am on the lookout for some basic tools and a band saw.

gotta start somewhere... what would you charge me to come over and be a fly on the wall for a day? :)

consider that a deal (is there a claim jumpers around there?)...

i'll figure out a time that works, and hit you up with it.. best to fly into oxnard, or lax then drive? coming from the beautiful cornfields of ohio.

thanks again,
Dave

i don't think any commercial flights go into oxnard. burbank is the closest, about 35 minutes away. lax is an hour unless it's rush hour, and rush hour goes from 6:30 am till 6:30 pm. no claim jumpers here, but plenty great mexican.
